What can you tell me about this

Hi Noessa
There's an excerpt at the top of this forum. Are you really asking people to make all my hard work public domain?

No not really I at first thought it was free then I read more if u see I changed my question from attached pdf to sample.. anyways I want to know what your book offers I just got a racer.. chill out I work for a police department I would never ask anyone to do anything illegal.

It's just for example you buy something for 20$ then you feel ripped off not knowing ahead of time what you bought ... at least in a book store u can sample what you buy.. and that is why when the internet age came about people felt justified in doing what they did as far as piracy goes.. So no I am not asking your work to be public but How can you expect someone to buy something without knowing truly what it is.

....except for Drayton-- who states on his site:

"Unlike other authors, I never have to advertise for other user tips and finds photos. "

...speak O' oracle...!

I call it "doing one's homework..."
...the difference between a detailed and informative book (that takes into account the opinions of others) and a self-involved rant..

BTW anyone who is dissatisfied with any of my books can return them to me (within a reasonable amount of time) for a full refund.
What can I say--seventeen titles, zero returns.

I understand. If anyone ever bought one of my books and was dissatisfied, I would have no problem giving them a full refund. I write the book I would want to read--usually works fine. Seventeen titles-no returns. Thanks for your interest though.

Ok I still do not know what I would be buying .. can you at least tell me if it shows you any settings to try? for the racer, or is the book just on how to use the racer with stock settings?

can you give any insight regarding different settings to try to achieve different things or does the book not contain this ..

you see this is why I am weary about buying it .. your book is entitled "mastering the racer" so that can mean anything or ALL things.

I just got my copy of Mastering the Makro Racer & I would definitely purchase it again. Great Informaton and insights into the workings & use of this machine!

neososa - I see on another post that you're having problems using your Racer. To the point of not knowing if there is something wrong with it or not. You're the person that really needs this book so you can have a better understanding of how it works and how to use it. Or you can just keep asking questions here on the forum hoping to get your questions answered. Your choice. Good luck with your hunting.

Thanks for the review, Altamaha. Lots of contempt prior to investigation out there so I appreciate it.

Clive, your mail box is full.

If this was a $2000 book id understand.. But its very inexpensive.. Ive read several of his books and learned quite a bit from each one... Mine is on the way...

I got my book on Friday and been reading it a little at a time between my bar customers and find it is very good in my opinion. Clive has made this book easy to understand, at least for me and learning as I go.
I used my Racer on and off this past summer and it is quite different than my Sovereigns I been running since 1996 and it is going to have a learning curve for sure as I am used to digging the odd signals and picking up some great finds, but the Racer from what I am seeing and understanding is a high gain detector so the gain from the factory is much higher than other detectors and have learned to turn it down instead of running it higher in my sites. I see now why I am digging so much trash is the gain was too high to learn this detector, but after I learn more I will be able to turn it higher. I am digging too many iffy signals with the Racer and have to work more on listening to every signal closer and take my time before I dig.

I find this book what I have read is well written and easy for all to understand.

Thanks Clive for another great book.

The Racer is a turn on and hunt machine I don't find that a book would help me. Maybe on a Deus

But Lawrenzo it has a reference to a quote you made here that is an excellent point in the book. Anyhow from a relic hunters standpoint it is a turn on and go machine. From a coin shooters standpoint there's definately some disciplines to be learned to not dig much trash.

Thanks for your feedback, Rick. That's the first thing I had to learn with the Racer too--for starters turn it down to get the hang of the Gain. I just love listening to this machine do it's work in iron--finds are gravy! Your posts taught me a ton about the Sov' --hope the information in the book is of good value to you over time.

The book is worth the read, then 5 more reads after that... You will learn something every time you open the book. Just open your wallet, you just shelled out $600 + for the Racer now spend a little more for some great tips.

Sorry to be resurrecting an older thread, but...
I have a handful of cjc's books and have the Makro Racer on order. I have never regretted the purchase and will keep them all on my shelf. They bring specific insights and well as generic hunting tips from a highly successful hunter. Everyone has an opinion those who have the evidence to show that it works are rare. If all you want is how to do basic settings... read the ^%$ manual!!!! If you want more, buy the book.
Sorry if I sound cranky. I think a huge amount of postings would be answered if people read their manuals.
Okay, I feel better now.

Hi Tom
Glad the books have helped you. Used to be the manual was all you had. When the Sov. came out there was a few posts and articles--nothing else. Must have read them each a hundred times. I'm very grateful for those who have taught me a few things how to use some of the various detectors and am glad to pass it on. Pays the odd trip South too.
The Racer is a great little detector and the book is a product of how much I enjoy hunting with it. Helps if you have a few basics though. Also, trere's no crime in owning a Welsh Corgi--they are good enough for the queen. Great collection of machines you have--good luck with them.

I read my book every night and use what I learn in the field. Often my Racer will do something I don't understand, when I get home I will read the book and that will sometimes explain what happened.
