What are your "goals" for 2011

burried gold

New member
getting ready to get out for the first time this year ( I know some of you have already started I have seen your posts and utube videos)
My personal goals for this year are
50 silver coins----I know some of you break this mark every year even 100 or 200+ I have not been able to do it yet
25 gold rings or jewelry pieces-- i got a new mxt just for this purpose
100 dollars in clad coins
1 troy ounce raw gold prospecting.
I live in the pacific north west. not much population in my area until the 1930's

to detect more this year than last
to spend less on detectors
Learn the detectors that I already have better

To hunt as much as possible and let the finds take care of themselves and then to be able to say the same thing at the start of 2012. HH jim tn

I would like to find one good gold and silver ring and one CW relic (all would be a first find of that type). Jimmie

I would really like to find an Indian head penny this year and also a Barber coin. As far as numbers of coins, doesn't really matter. Just like the weather to be nice and have more time to get out.

Go detecting every chance I get.... Just to enjoy the hobby.

I really want a seated coin and I'm gonna get it too. Persistence pays off. I especially want to learn my new E-Trac, inside and out and that will take a lot of hours. I will enjoy every second of it too!

I plan on digging over 2500 pull tabs this year. I am going to make a game of it and try to keep track. My local club collects them. I hope they enjoy them.

My goal is to have fun learning my new machine.:nerd:

I'm gonna try some deep water in some old lakes around here hookah diving...but first, I wanna be really in shape and running and gunning when the snow starts to melt....you know it will be a snow eater wind, or a rain that does it, and I want to be the first to the hot spots, night hunting too...wanna give that a good try this year...I read an article about a guy who set a goal to find 1000.00 in quarters in thirty days...can you imagine that? discrim out everything, and go like mad? That sorta sounds like a fun thing to try, but the sneaking feeling of missing something good might drive a guy batty..good luck with all your goals!

Over the years have been there done that but age and health certainly slows one down and of course a full pouch also helps...Individual finds are of little concern but enjoying the hobby the best I can surely are...

First things first. I would really like to get these tired old muscles rehabbed enough so I can get out detecting without being wiped out for the next two days. Rather basic but unless you can get out, nothing else matters.

Jerry

I enjoy the hobby just as much as anyone. I kind of feel silly for posting I have finds goals.

You might feel silly, but no matter how long you have hunted, you will still have goals, or at least you should I would think. I have hunted for 30 years and I still have yet to find a U.S. silver dollar or a Bust coin, the two at the top of my "goal" list.

I would like to just like to spend more time swinging the coil. My far fetched goal is to find something of national importance to the founding of our great country. :drinking:
