What am I missing ?

Well, fellow Tab diggers; I too have used several different makes of
MD's and after using the Garrett Machine, came to the conclusion
after considering what I personaly want in a MD't the Garrett MORE then
filled the bill.
That is NOT to say that the Garett is better then all the others, but
to say that it fits my every need when I am out in the field; no matter what I am looking for.
I live about ten miles from the Garrett factory and have talked to
several of their people about the best way to use their detector;
and they always seem eager to answer every question I have, most of them
have detectors themselves, and enjoy talking about the hobby. So to
sum it up, I would say use the detector that you feel most comfortable
and one that does what you expect of it. For me thats a Garrett.

My family and friends know I can catch fish. I'm a pretty good fisherman. I don't have the top of the line anything. I know why I catch fish - and when asked I tell people the secret. I say while your tying on a new lure every 10 casts and you hung up in the trees or resting. I have my lure in the water. I tell them that the fish are in the water. They look at me funny while going through their tackle box.

I just love that image.......excellent!!

AS I've always stated, " There is no such thing as the best detector, only the detector that is best for you - not someone else." What may be great for someone else could be a disaster for you.

When I was young we would go to the creek and cut our own poles and make our fishing poles right there and would put several lines out at a time. We jug fished and threw out trot lines and caught more fish than these guys with their fancy gear and boats ever caught. We also went "logging" or "noodling" as it's called in some parts of the country ( catching fish with your hands ) and done quite well. We also made carbide bombs and blew the fish out of the water. Some folks used "dip nets" and really made out.

We could have fun making carbide bombs out of fruit jars. It's a wonder I didn't blow myself up when I was a kid as we were always playing with that stuff.
