What about nickles?

Sorry my question was in reference to the Deus II and how well it ID's nickels.. Proof reading is not one of my strengths.
Deus 2 I.D.s nickels very well.---In my ground most of them come in at 63 (some at 64).----A range to watch for on the D2 for nickels is 58 through 65 to be safe (ground variance).----You will still dig a few pull tabs at 63 & 64 but not many.

Thanks for the info. The D1 seemed to have a problem with up averaging deep nickels so it made notching worthless. Some park sites I went back over with the Nox produced pretty much nothing but nickels, but it was a testament as to how bad the D1 was at hitting them cleanly. Im gonna get a D2 either way. I just loved how the D1 felt. The Nox is a great machine and have had some great finds with it but its just not as comfortable and though its a beast on coins the reviews Im reading are telling me the D2 may have an edge.

I agree on your range 58 ~ 65, I've been getting some very toasty Shield nickels and V nickels lately that are hitting 59 or 60. Nothing is showing on the mineralization bar.

Most nickels ive ever found. 5 tones in general saved to custom program. 60 to 65 set to sound sweet. Found nickels that read solid 61 62 63 and 64, and of course some that bounce around. To zap all bottle caps do not use bottle cap reject, but instead use another custom prog:
Mono freq 7.5 use the xy screen. Locate the prog right next to your coin prog so you quick flip to it. Caps will vid around 90, and the line will be straight and near the horizontal axis on the screen. So far has been 100 percent accurate on my tests. Caution though, only works to about 5 inches, after that mono prog gets dicey.

😀...I have a gold 10k men's ring that also air tests in that range of numbers on the D2.
Also found this early on using Park program in heavey iron.

I never found as many nickels as I did with the Nox. I'd guess the reason is I ran field2 a lot and the "special recipe" was geared toward lower conductors. I haven't noticed my nickel production on the Deus2 yet but I'd guess it would be lower as I always run DeepHC which leans on the higher conductors. I think a buff I found was a solid 62. So, who knows, I don't think I helped any. lol

Have never found as many nickels as I’ve been finding with the Deaus 2. Actually that goes for dimes and quarters as well.
I run a modified park program. 5 tones
Zero discrimination
Comparing to my Deaus 1 and the Nox.

The Old Deus used to be terrible on IDing nickels.

I loved my Deus but when I switched to the Nox I started pulling a lot more coins in general but my nickel count went through the roof.
If it bounces around the ID number probably pull tab as with the equinox also.

That's what I use on my nox works great sounds great compared to all the other settings! And I still pick my equinox first had a killer river hunt with it lots of silver back to 1876! Just this past week.

With the d1 I find that the nickels are a solid number and do not jump around. Pull tabs on the other hand do jump around, but I still dig a fair share of them. Deep smashed crown caps, you just have to dig them.

I was testing the D2 yearday with a variety of modern pull tabs and would agree with the above statement for pull tabs numbers jumping around higher than nickels.

I recently was extremely lucky to stumble across a HUGE cut at the beach. Every swing was a target. On day 2 I decided NOT to dig pennies or dimes. I was going to dig only quarters and anything else that could be gold. After few passes, I couldnt tell the difference between a silver dime and a copper penny. All these coins were crusted with corrosion. I dug everything that beeped. As you can see, plenty of nickels. You just have to be in a place where nickels are prevalent. 1st day, I lugged over 4 pounds of lead. too. I found 2 gold rings and 4 silver rings. Day 2, 5 gold rings, bunch of silver coins but no silver rings. Great while it lasted but as usual, cuts dont last long.

Yes, the D2 does very well finding nickels.

PS the bracelet is stainless steel.

Holy Smokes.
What a dig. Nice finds. Congratulations
Had a rare very deep cut up on our beach on lake Erie years ago.
26 silver quarters. Mostly 1950's.
Had the carnival on the beach back then.
Cherry picked it. Should have dug everything.
Just to many targets.
May I ask what part of the country your in ?
Fresh water,, salt water beach ?
