What a morning swinging the Etrac!!! Two silvers!!!

Thanks guys. MY 5 " Sunray just came. I am putting that sucker on and hitting that tough spot today!!! Oh, and I found a CW button there yesterday too. But I'll say it again.....and mean it. I prefer hunting with my Etrac. It has whooped my Deus in my test garden. The Deus, even with it's ID Screen, is STILL almost a "dig every hi tone" machine. I have spent some time behind the Deus. I plan on parking it for a while. This Etrac intrigues me. I don't find the wieght to be an issue at all, like I USED to think. On my FIRST Etrac, I had the coil WAY out in front of me and it gave me a "drop to the ground immediately" back spasm. If I try to pick up two cases of bottled water, the same thing happens though. Now that I have my coil's length set to where I can stand straight up and swing, it no problem. It's weigh actually causes me to slow my swing down (I'm a bit hyper). Good luck to everyone who gets to hunt today. I'll be off at noon to go hunting til dark. I'll be using the 5 inch Sunray. And working out a small patch. (have y'all got the same problem that I got?: You swing at one spot for a few minutes and then look over at another spot in the yard and it looks better so ya walk over there? You know....random wandering? It can't be productive. I mean...it's like scratching Tennessee lottery tickets. Ya hardly EVER win and if you do.....it's merely a FREE TICKET. I'll try some controlled hunting today. Happy Etrac-ing.

I've been duped by surface coins too, if you get a really strong good signal, just raise the coil as mentioned earlier. If it still registers when the coil is 6"-8" above the ground level you know what you've got (surface coin). If it goes away, you really do have a good ID target at depth. Saves me a lot of frustrating trenching...LOL!
