Wet Salt Water Beach hunting machine that doesn't break the bank ? :detecting:

I'm not going to say which machine to get (I'm going for the Excal II soon) I will put in my 2 cents in (which in today's market is worth about 1 cent)--go with waterproof (or make it waterproof).
As going through 1 1/2 seasons on the beach with the Minelab Quattro, I've always ventured close to the waters edge..sometimes TOO close.
I was worried last year enough to tether the Quattro to me so not to drop it/lay it down in fear of water getting to it--which would ruin more than the hunt!

Thanks for all the suggestions.

I decided to go with a Sovereign, and figured I will hip mount it when beach hunting to avoid getting it wet (short of me falling in). I ended up getting a sweet deal on a Sovereign XS-2a Pro with the stock 10" Tornado coil, 12" Sun Ray Intruder coil, 15" Coiltek coil, Sun Ray meter, hip mount bag, Sun Ray Pro Gold headphones (new in the package) and a bunch of extras. Can't wait to test it out.
