Well I just got a bit of bad news

Lets just face it Terry, and everyone else, we are a bunch of Old Farts, and our bodies are falling apart piece by piece, we aint invincible any more
Lmao.......you ain't wrong there.I've recently started playing tennis again.......last session I ran for a ball........my mind had worked out the speed I needed to get to it,the trajectory I needed over the net and the placement in the opposite court to create a winner.Unfortunately the mind was willing but the body was'nt able,my legs couldn't keep up with my mind and I nearly collapsed in a heap.....it must have looked as though I had rubber legs,my wife nearly pissed herself laughing.......its the first time in my life I've actually felt old.🤣🤣

many years ago when i was a hot tar roofer, someone put a huge piece of tearoff over an open hole. Roofers are not especially known for very high iq. Anyway i climbed a 3 story ladder, jumped off the parapet wall right on the covered open hole. I got hung on the trusses, supporting my full weight with my arms about the level of my jaw line. Not knowing if i'd land in someones bedroom or go all the way to the ground, i hung on until a couple guys helped me get back up. Both rotaters hurt for nearly a year after that incident.
hope you get better soon.

You always have the other arm that you could "teach" to swing your detector. I did that while healing form surgery. But now I could swing with either arm if the need ever arises. The biggest challenge was to switch from swinging to scooping with one arm. I had the scoop tethered to my belt. You can adapt. No matter how bad off you are there are other that have it worse and have learned to adapt.

Prayers said for a full & speedy recovery. I had a torn left rotator cuff along with a ripped bicep about 6 years ago. They repaired both and I was as good as new. I was recuperating for about 3 months. I'll pray that all goes well for you and you'll be able to swing the coil better than ever. years ago, I was diagnosed with 'massive rotator cuff tear'. Dr said, 'at your age' !!! didnt know I was so old, the surgery may not work. Did some PT and let time do its thing. I couldnt left my arm more than a few inches off of my waist. After almost a year, it was 90 % better. Still some pain but minimal.
Many years ago I had a 'major rotator cuff tear. Dr said, 'at your age' the surgery may not work. Did some PT and almost a years later, it was 95% good.

Here's the way you swing, instead of moving the entire arm, just hold your arm near your stomach and twist your whole body back and forth. No need to give up your passion !!!!

I recently broke my wrist, full cast over and above my elbow !!! Right hand no less. Top half comes off Monday !!! Been a real PIA!! Dr said NO Advil.. Tylenol !!! I said it doesnt do anything for me. He said, Arthritis strength, 650 mg. Take 2 before going out to detect. Should ease the pain. DONT take too many. Can cause liver damage. I use sparingly. Maybe only 1 to take the edge off!!!

I feel your pain !!! Take it slow !!!

Not so fast. I sold all my Detecting equipment after being hit by a car. My Left Knee was destroyed and I already had a Rotator problem. Three years later I am back at it. In fact it is saving me because that is the only exercise I am willing to do.

Detecting got me back on my feet three times now.
Not sure about this time. Can't walk 100' without spasms and intense pain. Legs lock up.
Been in bed two years so far this time around.
