I just bought that used Lobo off the classified, I am not new to Tesoro I had a Tejon up to about a year ago. But now that I got the Lobo coming, I kind of wonder what to expect out of it.

I am pretty much a coin and jewelry hunter in the West Virginia area, is the Lobo up to the task?

Hey Ron, did you get the original Lobo, or the super trac?

I remember reading something about the color of the machines changed, mine is more of dark brown color, so I think it must be a original. Here is a picture take a look and let me know for sure. Also any other differences I need to know about it good or bad? It still says super traq on the side.

Its a "ST" (Super Trac) so it uses the delta series coils (newer style, or the same as the Tejon) and it looks to be in VERY GOOD condition! sweet!

Yea Ron you have the Lobo ST...a few years back Tesoro changed the color scheme for the latest production LST's but I don't think any other changes were made to them. The original Lobo's that were made years earlier had a manual ground balance adjustment on them and those coils will not work on the later LST model which you have with the automatic ground tracking in all-metal mode. Good hunting!

WB Ron! It's my understanding the only changes besides color is the early LST had an annoying start up sound.

That's the one I got, WOW you turn it on and it will blow head off. All kinds of warnings in the manual to not put your headphones on until after you start up and let it go through the battery test.

So far so good on the difference between the old and new.

My brother Ron (WV62) spent some time on there (Tesoro Forum) a while back when he had a Tejon (badger), he traded it to me, jumped ship, and now has reincarnated with the Lobo (Timber Wolf).
