Well guys I am back

Well-known member
I just bought that used Lobo off the classified, I am not new to Tesoro I had a Tejon up to about a year ago. But now that I got the Lobo coming, I kind of wonder what to expect out of it.

I am pretty much a coin and jewelry hunter in the West Virginia area, is the Lobo up to the task?

Welcome Back , you are in a good location

Big brother surprised me with this announcement last night  I think he's looking to upping the odds on the jewelry.
I'm interested to see how well the Lobo performs myself.

Hey, big brother, if you order any of those AA batteries from batteryjunction dot com if you add one of those little two bay 9 volt chargers I'll give you a couple of my Tenergy 9 volt batteries and that will set you up for the pinpointer.

Oh, and also its big brother's birthday, so today its official, he's older than dirt  "Happy Birthday"

Mark

Thanks little brother, for the Happy Birthday,

I will go to that battery site and see what I can do, what a deal.

Brother Ron still above ground in WV,

Ron I used a Lobo ST when I lived in Arizona but mainly for prospecting so most of the time I was using the all-metal mode. I primarily used the elliptical 5"x10" wide scan coil but would also use the smaller elliptical 3.5" x 7" concentric coil when conditions would allow. You will be amazed at the small metallic targets it will detect especially in all-metal mode. Some of my prospecting trips would eventually turn into relic/coin hunting trips when I would stumble upon old mining camp areas and the disc. mode on the LST would save the day. It found me some nice mining relics that would of been hard to find with just an all-metal only type prospecting unit in those iron infested mining camp areas. Another good feature on the LST is the true ED-180 discriminate circuitry which will allow you to knock out some of the smaller ferrous trash while still being able to hit the small non-ferrous targets. Best of luck to you with the LST and Happy Birthday!

Randy

Happy Birthday Ron! :beers:

Yeah, what are you thinking? Focusing on Dirt Jewelry this year? It sort of is the 'last Frontier' for us after a guy has wiped an area clean of old silver coins and clad...unless a guy goes full on scuba, seems the Teeboys post their fair amount, so this Lobo should be a decent rig...one big gold ring or chain could make your year...its just such a dirty mess hunting jewelry though...all those 'trash target tones' where it hides...its a good strategy though...easily missed by most and could open up a whole new World for you! I bet you know your area really well, so think about where the gold might be...thats the secret...try to focus where the gold might be, and pull those targets...

I was thinking along that line, when I had the Tejon it was my go to machine for inland jewelry hunting.

You and Mark both getting upgraded. Cool. Happy B day. I was over in Huntington about 12 years ago when I spent a month staying in Ashland KY while installing the fire alarm in the Lowes there. I remember it was a good area for detecting. Had some good hot dogs and root beer at a Stewarts also. lol.

(I meant this post for big brother in West "by God" Virginia. WV62)

Well, judging by a change in Avatar's it looks like a "Timber Wolf" (Lobo) is coming.

Looks good big brother!

Mark

I like it and tracking number says it should be here tomorrow (Monday).

Thanks for the home work on the Lobo avatar.

Well Dan, there is no denying you've been to this area, Root Beer at Stewarts and you for sure ran into the common phrase West Virginia is sometimes referred to. If you ever make it back this way I'll treat you to some Root Beer and Hot Dogs.

Anybody know of other Lobo owners here on the forum?

Mark

Welcome back and happy birthday. I see that you got lucky like me and was born a Aries! It's the best zodiac sign of them all, just ask any Aries.

As an inland jewelry hunter myself (who is presently without an inland jewlery hunting machine, long story), I think you will have good luck with the Lobo.

Just remember that women outwear jewelry versus men by a ratio of 9:1, and as most women's jewelry falls in the "FOIL" range, you will want to keep the discrimination low to keep the odds in your favor.

However, I envision there will be amazing amounts of trash in your future.

Good luck!

Thanks!

Also another welcome to the forum.

Thank you. Its really good to be here.

My new to me Lobo arrived today, the machine looked about as close to new as you can get. All I could do with it today was put it together and run my ring in front of the coil and it worked.
