Well as I anticipated summer arrived with a "bang". After months of cool and rainy weather it went right to a 100 degrees right out of the box. Was 10

Uncle Willy,

I lived in Phoenix, Arizona for 26 years and I can tell you some HOT stories.
There is an old saying there about every year that you live in Phoenix, the Devil will
take 7 years off your sentence in Hell. Well, I lived there long enough to
know I won't be going to Hell when I die although I lived in Hell for 26 years.
Much cooler living here in North Idaho.

Yeah man, I seen that on the news about heat advisories in the Pacific Northwest. They said that people don't even have a/c up there 'cause it doesn't usually get hot enough to need it. I hope everybody's okay. Stay cool if ya can. Take it easy.

Yeah I lived in Phoenix and Las Vegas. Know all about that heat. What part of Idaho? I lived up north in Potlatch for a couple of years or so. My wife worked at WSU in Pullman, Washington at the time. One winter it got down to 55 below in Potlatch. Man that was cold.

It's hanging on the edge of 108 on my front porch right this moment and the thermometer is in the shade and it's 7 PM.

I am, right smack dab in front of the AC. :) I pity these folks who are too stubborn, too poor, or too tight to buy an AC and try to suffer through this crap and some of the older folks kick the bucket doing so. The city sets up cooling shelters here for folks who don't have AC or even a fan. A lot of people figure they don't need air or a fan since we only have a few days a year of this blistering heat but it only takes one day or a few hours to snuff your butt. And we don't have the suffocating humidity here like they do back east. I suffered through that crap for many years until I got smart and moved out of that country.
