Wedding ring found and returned with the ctx

That's as good as it gets... any discussion about the battery seal/water intrusion and are they planning any upgrades to the seal?

No, sorry to say.....They are extremely busy at this time of the year and trying to get everything done before the holidays. I didn't want to take up their time at this moment but we will be having that discussion in a couple of weeks. I could be wrong but I'm thinking that 2 D rings seals would be better than one and possibly some silicone which is not recommended. I have to match them up and see how the seals would fit together...thus possibly creating a better and tighter seal rather than the opposite. A good amount of pressure is a big component of having a good seal.

Merry Christmas to you! and all!

As promised,,,,Ups just delivered my new ctx.......with some extras! My early Christmas present! Thanks again Minelab!

Yes James that's a Good idea two D seals, But watch the pressure on the latches??? You wouldn`t want them to give out???

I am not an engineer but I think two D seals will just give a bit more sealing pressure for a good seal ......AND wont give any appreciable strain on the latches...as they are pretty decently built. I havent yet matched up the seals under a microscope to see how well they "fit" together. If they do...I think it will just do the trick.

Thanks James keep us I the Loop on the 2 D-seals, Thanks Mickfin

I looked at my seal oring just to get an idea of how much material is there, and I think a slightly thicker (not quited double) seal would create a solid seal even if there were small dust or sand particles on it.

I don't know what you base that on but you could be correct. I think any extra thickness would help. Who knows if ML will produce a replacement or not. A double o ring would be a quick easy alternative to no addition at all and ML does not have to reproduce a new item.
