Weather Check....How's Your Weather Where You Live?

-10c day to -15c night for most of the week. I am now turning to different hobbies as the ground is frozen like a rock now. I bought a moderate sized hand pick so I might take the beep stick to some creek gravel to look for old shot shell bases, marbles, or bottle dig if the creek bank allows............ Then it"s on to other things. The warden says that she's up for some ice fishing this year.

20's--40's here. Know that sounds nice to some of you northern folks, but for us it close to 25 degrees below normal for this time of the year. It did put the bugs and creatures into hibernation, though, and my buddy and I hit the woods for the first time on Fri and I was back into them yesterday. Got the woods season first silver coin yesterday, in fact. HH jim tn

30 miles sw of Buffalo NY, We have 3 inches of snow hanging around 32 f , most years this first snow melts away and we get a few mid forty days .
This year they are calling for more snow , don't think we'll get the melt. Jim tn 45 is the temp I like the best , few bugs and comfortable digging.

south central WI. Frozen ground and 3 inches of snow. Way early this year. Must be the global warming. lol

Eastern NY. Polar vortex took its sweet time getting here. Ground is not frozen yet. 40F Friday with 10-15 MPH breeze. Took my bike to a soccer field for some coin shooting. With the right clothing on, not a bad day at all. Its all in the clothing - layers of polyester with a Gortex shell and you'll sweat down to 10F!
HH 'til the ground is frozen!

It's in the 60's here in south, ga and we are expecting a hard freeze tomorrow night. High winds and had some rain this am. We usually don't have a hard freeze until about the 20th of November but have already had several light freezes where it got down to 29 and 30 degrees. 21 predicted tuesday night. 49 high wednesday and I sure want to hit the river with my wetsuit. Put the stock head phones back on the At/Pro but didn't use it yesterday. On 2nd thought, I may use my chest waders and just grid the shallows up to waist deep.

Wow! All these weather reports are depressing

We don't have weather here ... just various seasons of summer.

I'm sure Montana is a banana belt compared to Edmonton. The "nice" days are windy and as long as you can get some sunshine and a good wind break, the sun reflection off the snow gives strong heat. ALMOST SUN BATHING WEATHER.

Lake Michigan, eastern shore

Wind..27kts WNW
Waves...7-11'
Temp...22f wind chill... 4F
Snow squalls continuing since last week, Lake effect..here on the shore of West Michigan near Muskegon..big waves and wind really peeling off the sand.

And yet, as I sit here trying to figure out a place to hunt, watching the live beachcams, looking for a possible cut, theres some damn guy out there surfing!.:surprised: That there is one tough, crazy blankety blank!! Making us all look bad!

32 degrees, steady 20 mph wind, blue skies - sunny...ground digable! Probably won't get out but possibly once to detect this week. Might see 40 degrees Thursday - yohoo - Hawaiian shirt day

23 in W Tn when I left for the woods to dig. Hand warmer packs in place, no wind in the woods and ground like powder. Un-fortunately, no silver. The best was two period pieces of lead and a 1906 I H cent. HH jim tn

Angola NY, about 2 ft of snow and steady wind driven snow still coming . We are in better shape than some of our neighboring towns who have 4 ft already. Our home is on 20 acres just outside Angola , no traffic problems like all those stuck cars on tv . The snow blower is ready and we have a Tractor with a loader, And the horse has hay.
Most people around here are prepared , listen to the news and stay home. Why are all those people driving around , not dressed for cold weather, no gas in the tank, food blankets or water in the car . The working people usually are not the problem on the roads, some of the reasons people give for being out are really just dumb . The warnings were well in advance of the storm and accurate. If we now start losing power due to fallen trees ect. , a real state of emergency will occur . Seniors and handicap people will have to wait while the people who could have been prepared , got caught by surprise ( after a week of warning ) . We will see flooded basements , people without a supply of food , flash lites , clothes crying for relief.
Most faces we will have seen before and we will see them again . Sorry for sounding so negative but tv shows have been replaced by news all day long.
The good news major warm up next week .
