And it ain't going to be me. I spend too much time on here as it is anyway. Do we even had a moderator for this forum or is it somebody who moderates other forums and just visits this one once in a while to check on things? I'd like to see Stickys done on VDI charts, the battery/charger thread, coil options, setup and use of the Sovereign and Excal, and so on. Much of this stuff gets buried into the dark deep regions of the forum never to be seen again unless you search for just the right words. Who's with me?
This is one of the best machines on the market yet there seems to be no major PR campaign for it by Minelab or anybody else for that matter. Many people could used guidance on things from hooking up meters (most probably don't even know you can put a meter on it), using the stock charger (how many hours to charge, etc), adding a remote PP switch, making the machine lighter, the reason why it is king of the beach and can water hunt easily because it comes chest/hip mountable right out of the box (unlike other machines), and so on. Also, while I'm thinking of it, if you go on KellyCo's website and look at the GT you'll now see some excerpts from a new book on the Sovereign. One of the guy's quotes is that NOTHING comes close to BBS technology in terms of running smooth and getting maximum depth in the worst of ground conditions on things like the beach. I think he calls it the king of beach machines, though we all know it's also kind of the deepest of coins and unmasking on land. This machine needs some advocates to save people from buying another detector at the same price (or more) with much less in the way of performance compared to a GT or Excal.
