Hey BH Nice finds here in Maine was not as good still to much sand.....Tried out my new BH ID liked it but need a straight rod for sure I don't know why Whites designs it like this. Marc
 
at lower part of slope target line of mostly .25c+.05c no trash...copper nails..lead about all no zinc's there. Some buffalo .05c mixed in w/clad.

Find of a lifetime BH!!! I've been out a couple times in the last month, but haven't had much luck. Wanted to go out today but had to work this morning and leaving tomorrow for a week on business.

Way to go BH!!! Absolutely awesome and beatiful silver cob - imagine the history behind that beauty :)
 
You mentioned that you used some cleaner on the backside - I'm sure you already know this, but I wouldn't do anything to try to clean it at all other than just some soap and water.

There's a great forum on TreasureNet that discusses cobs and there are some real experts there that could probably help you with info. on the coin.

Personally, to me, something like that would lose it's appeal if it were cleaned to the point of being shiny - I love the look it has in the pictures - worn pirate treasure!!
