They "beach hunters" do it alot at my local beach. We dont have a surf with waves here so most of the locals use ID machines. It was driveing me and others nuts with our TIDs.

I don't know what detectors you guys use, but you could probably go around with an Explorer or an E-trac and ignore the pennies if they're becoming a nuisance although I'm guessing you might miss out on gold? Still, I'f others ae tedered from hunting the beach because of the pennies, it might give you a better chance to find something after a few beach goers have been.

Ron,the only reasons I can think of , is that there is something valuable lost there,
and they don't want anybody looking,or they just don't like MDers,or they have a twisted
since of humor.Might want to go back with the Excal and cherry pick around the pennies
with tone disc.Might be something of good value there.Might even do it myself if I get time.

Who's been cleaning up the Pennies?

For those of you who have never use or seen an under water detector, they have a builtin headset and they do not have ID meter,but some come with differint tones , but some zincers have the same tone as some GOLD ring.So take your best land detector ,take away the ID meter,take away your disc., take away your auto GB put it in a water tite container and then go huntting in the water and see how you like it.while you in the water run into a few hundred pennies ,then tell me what you think. this way you know what us water hunters go throw.So Happy huntting Ron Lord ,Naples , FL

Seems to me someone has more time on their hands then there are ants on an ant farm. Who in their right mind would wrap an estimated 100 pennies with tin foil jus to throw it away?

This would not be good . the beaches in Naples are so clean it is hard to find anything ,even in the water it is hard to find anything.

Junkloard, do what I do, go to a beach where no one seems to go. I have had my best finds on beaches where you think people DON"T go. Sometimes you just got to back off on thees overworked beaches

It's junk lord not junk loard,ok 90% of all beaches in the Gulf side of Fl. are over worked. We have to many torist with metal detectors.
