Vx3 usage while V3i is in for repairs

First...I have to say Whites electronics is awesome! Fixing my V3i even though it is out of warranty is AWESOME. What a company!! A+++

I found a great deal on a Vx3 to play with while my V3i is out for repair. The Vx3 has been great! I will say that without the analyze mode I have been digging targets I probably would have skipped and that has probably been why I have been so successful with it. I think I learned more about using the V3i by taking the Vx3 for a spin. Yesterday I went to a hidden park that was never really detected. For 3.5 hours I dug and dug and had a HUGE pocketful of stuff at the end. (2 rings, $4+ in change, art deco money clip, + more..) Everything in the pic was dug in 3.5 hours!
The VX3 is a great detector! I am going to be keeping it for friends and family when they want to come along detecting. For the price it is GREAT detector.

Sometimes less is more! Judgements calls on a target without over analyzing. It can be a plus. Anyways you did great at that park nice finds!!!! Ps. Which coil were you using? Just curious. I ran my vx3. With the d2. Did very well with it keep up the excellent work! Now just think what you'll do when the 3i gets back. HH tom

Nice finds JV.

That's a lot of nickels! I usually don't find such a high percentage of them.....maybe 7% to around 10% - 12% of my totals.

Don't know why. But I always dug the 18-22 signals 99percent of the time they were nickles. Sometimes very rarely they were the ring from a tab no beavertail. JV. Did you get 18-22 signals on those nickles? Curious cause the way I understand it. The ground in different areas will cause slightly differing signals. Ps JV can you give me the directions to that park? Hahahahahah. HH c t

Howdy JV--

Nice haul there. Good to see that I am not the only one that digs pull-tabs hahah. Seriously, very good job! Glad that you are having fun with your detector. That's what it's all about. Best of luck and ...

I am digging everything between -15 to +36 and also any solid quarter signals +82 to +94. I am leaving lots of targets in the ground like pennies and dimes.
I forgot to mention that I did switch out the 950 coil on the VX3 for a d2 coil that I got in a trade. I found the D2 coil was more stable in general in comparison especially in places with EMF.

Man, your ground is horrible to that clad! Nickels never seem to look good but those dimes and quarters look as if they have been dyed.... My zincs are usually toasted, Indians a beautiful deep green patina, and silver, well...silver..lol, but my clad is usually just dirty or dark from age. Great digs tho! I've owned two Vx3s and they are nice detectors. Hoping for a V3i for this fall to compliment my Vaquero. Glad to hear Whites has yet another satisfied customer!

My iron rich ground turns them all red.

The lesson you learned is too many people think detector ID systems are exact. There are too many factors involved.
