Vision depth.

I got out Sat.evening for a while and found several old coins and relics at my favorite old courthouse. Will post pictures tomorrow when I get to my office as am on dialup here at home and to slow.
Anyway about depth.I got a good solid penny/dime hit that showed 8" on meter and the soil their is not good to say the least.
I dug a nice deep plug and target was still in the bottom of hole acording to my uniprobe.I was getting curious by now and so carefully moved a little bit of dirt at a time until I just saw a little green metal and then pulled my tape measure and very carefully measured from the surface to the wheat penny and it was 8-1/4".
This may seem like no big deal to those getting small coins at 12"+ but here in this soil over 8" on a penny is very good .And that depth is very good with my CZ3D,F75,SE Pro and E-Trac just to name a few of the machines I have hammered this courthouse with.
I also dug a 3 ringer at about the same depth that was loud and clear as well,Ray.
PS. cold rain all day today so all I could do is play with the Vision and E-Trac in the house.:ranting:

Good info Ray. Can you share with us what settings you were using... Frequencies, Sensitivity, RxGain, Recovery Delay, Ground Filter, Correlate / Best Data? Thanks!

I was using the basic factory preset coins & jewelery with Sensitivity at RX=10,all metal=54 and Disc.=80
Stock coil.

Hi Ray....Great finds and thanks for sharing the settings.

Seems like you have gone thru a lot of machines and now give the V3 high grades. The more posts I read, the more anxious I get. Reminds me of my first date. I'll be able to give one a field trial this sometime week. What state are you in? HH

Hey Ray, Nice haul man. I got a dime at 8" with my MXT about 1 1/2 months ago in a parking area w/an EX 8" DD coil. I like to see them come up like that. Just got my money for my V3 and and am now waiting for my machine to come in. Keep diggin dude. I'm sure you enjoy it as much as most of us do.:detecting:

I am in south west Missouri. I have and do use several top end machines.I still own and use the F75,SE Pro, E-Trac and just sold the CZ3D a couple of weeks ago after using it for over 3 years with good success.None of the machines listed including the Vision/V3 are perfect by any means but are however great machines if one takes the time to learn them well and put them over some good targets in the field.
I hunt the turf 95% of the time for old coins and that is what I am basing my statements on.
I think one of the biggest downfalls of most hunters lacking good finds is lack of good locations to hunt reguardless of targets being sought. If it "ain't their" the best detectorist in the world with the greatest equipment will get skunked.
I think when you get a chance to field test the Vision you will be more able to make a decision concerning it's purchase,Ray.

Ray, eXcellent post.

As you own some of the highest end detectors on the market now, could you make some short statements regarding your perceptions of the Vision against those other detectors, especially with regard to where those other detectors are known to excel?

Thanks in advance!
