looking to find places around Norfolk, VA to go metal detecting and to take the family out and maybe pick up a few things. Anyone in the area that knows of anywhere to look or try please let me know. So far it has been in the yard. Found a 2 1/2 cent netherland coin but that is about it.

There's spots out there. But I think it will be more work for the ATpros . ;-) I'm from Lynchburg, so usually hunt more towards central VA, but have hunted Wytheville with Michael. The ground has been pounded out there for years. I'm thinking the relics are held in the water though. Maybe when it warms up we can get together and see what we can come up with.

Sounds like a plan to me. I love water hunting with my ATP. I know of a place where one may just find some CW relics but there are snapping turtles in the stream. It use to be a muster grounds for a local militia. Keep me posted.

Now you're talking my language. LOL. I'm just a little freaked out by turtles, but will take a bite or 2 for CW relics.

I'll let you know when it will be possible to hunt that site. I wonder if a snapping turtle could bite thru my snake boots?

Will be moving to the Richmond area sometime in March. Sure would like to find a hunting partner after I get there.

I'm in Illinois. I would love to hunt for cw artifacts. I would definatly join you guys on a weekend hunt. Let me know when and where ,and what most of you have found already around there.
