Vintage Padlock

Found this lock at an 1890's early 1900's homestead. At the top of the brass emblem looks to be an old german style cross and just below it looks like a rams head. If anyone could help in identifying the manufacturer would be great. Thanks in advance

Very nice find. I think your padlock pre dates the 1890's by a good bit.
 
Without any other identifying marks, finding the manufacturer is nearly impossible, as many of those old shield style lever-locks were produced by nearly every maker at some point.
