AS Paul Harvey would say, "...and now for the rest of the story...."snoop & scoop said:Take a breath guys! Maybe I said it wrong, As I said in a previous post when I was thinking of buying the Vaquero, I have some hearing loss. With my other detectors, when they hit a target it all sounded the same to me. With the high tone, I can tell the difference. The nickles seemed to be a softer sound (tone) to me, also the dimes were slightly different than the penny's, and nickles. It seems that I hear this detector better than my others. OK!
Im okay with it all; I was interested in hearing one mans thoughts behind what was the reason for some success. I had to pry a little to get to that point, so I appreciate your hanging in.
As to those who believe I was attacking their "pet device," well.... some will take it that way, I suppose, when another asks questions. The assumption is one of doubt, rather than clarification.
For my side, most will not know that I prefer the Golden over almost all the Tesoro detectors. I like the multi-tones of the Golden, that "symphony of sound" some call bothersome. I'm the antithesis to those folks - - I find monotone detectors distracting.
Some will also sneer at this point, claiming the "less-than-serious" Golden doesn't have the depth of the Vaquero. Well, if that is so, it misses it by very little. In side by side tests last season, on cleared and plowed fields, my Golden hit anything the Vaquero did. This is deep digging, friends, I assure you. Before that, I recall a quarter at a measured 11" with the Golden. That event turned my opinion of the Golden. This is real world stuff, not forum conjecture or unsubstantiated air tests.
So to each his own. Thanks for your patience, 'Snoop.
