V3i wireless-would you do it again?

Hello All you V3 and V3i user's,

I would like your straight un-bias opinion on the Purchase of a New V3i. Should I get it with or without the wireless headphones?
WOULD YOU DO IT AGAIN?
Or should I not even think about spending any more money on metal detectors.
I currently have an At Pro, Omega 8000 w/11" coil, Delta 4000 and F75Ltd.
I like them all but I don't wish to ad to my collection as I just sold the Garrett AT Pro, False signals and not a very well balanced machine (noise heavy).
It's a hard thing to do, like having to choose between your children as to who...........................whatever!

I want it. I can afford it. But I am getting frugal in my retirement years as I spend too much on a hobby that's not my first passion, I do enjoy other things and sometimes this having more than one hobby can be hard to allocate enough time too. I know if I bail out (sell out) I'll want back in so I need at least one detector to keep from having withdrawal.

You help and advice would be appreciated.

Bill

The best money you will spend No haggling with cord, you can walk away from it and do your personal buisness Why wouldn't you buy it

I personally don't care for how they fit. Too round in my opinion and sit ON my ears, not around them. Just my preference.

You said, I like them all but I don't wish to ad to my collection. I wouldn't tell you to add, unless you want to. It is a great detector and I am glad I have the WHP. They work great for me. I do fine with wired phones also.

I get all my detecting done with 2 detectors. That's plenty for me to learn to use them expertly and learn their nuances. I couldn't do a half a dozen detectors justice and I can afford more detectors if I wanted them also. I've culled my herd and am finding more.

I've had my V3i for about 3 weeks. I spent the extra $$ on the wireless headphones. I personally like the freedom the wireless headphones give. No wires are great!. The only down side is having another device that takes batteries. I always carry extras. So, yes..I would do it again. Couldn't see myself going back to wired headphones.

Boy, these 1st. three answers are very helpful. I like the idea of not being tied to something every-time I need to walk away, Hum.....but I'm going to walk to far away!
I have never tried them on. I do have a set of cheapish Whites Royal GT , would that be a fair comparison?
Hey Downdeep, If I where to cull a couple of units, it seems it would be best to let the higher end units go and keep the Delta 4000 $250.00 machine. Is this right? or do you think I would be better off to keep the F75 Ltd for an equalizer. Or maybe cull the cheaper and the high end unit and keep the middle of the road Omega, as a back up and NEVER LOOK BACK.
So far it's 3 to 1 for the WHP. Hope I hear more feedback. Thanks for the straight answers Guys.

I can't afford squat, but I have the headphones and I use them every time and love them. Heck yes I would get them again.

I can't advise on that, I have only owned 4 detectors in my life! one at a time :surrender:

Bill, what you usually see with some factory supplied headphones is the el cheapo's...THIS IS NOT the case with the V3 detector...These are some very, very nice headphones...Now, I have a feeling what I will say in August down here where I am at, because of the fluffy ear muffs on these...but I will have to use some small wired ones at that time...
Good Hunting...Clyde (La.)

Rob(IL) I meant to address the sixth post to you, as to weather or not cull 1 or 2 detectors,i.e. keep the little Tek. Delta or keep the F75Ltd.
Thanks

I try to help people understand features of the V3i. If you check my posts, I don't tell people what to buy. I am not you and what you keep depends on you and your needs. Good luck whatever you decide and welcome to the forum. We are here to help you with the V if you get one.

My V3i did not come with the headphones. I had a great pair of Koss 9000 headphones which worked great. The only drawback to the wire on the headphones for me was that the wire connection would come loose, but they have a lifetime warranty.

I ended up getting the wireless headphones only because I was able to get them from someone in the forum for $100 less than a new pair from Whites. Let me tell you, I would have gladly paid $100 more for them if I had known how amazing they are! The sound quality is excellent and not having the wire getting caught on trees and bushes is a plus. Yes, they put a lot of pressure on my glasses, but from what I understand they have modified the ear cushion recently.

My only recommendation is that you get a good set of rechargeable batteries to use with them. Otherwise you will use them up pretty quickly.

Thanks Neil,
Your explanation is what I was fearing could happen to me. I think the Spring Special is starting now and I can get $100.00 off on the Wireless Combo plus free pin-pointer and carry bag. That's what I hear,
Thanks to all that took the time to make this a wonderful evening, My wife says go for it! I will place my order Monday.
Bill

You did well on deciding the w/headphones package. Sounds like you have the luxury of taking the time to learn this new machine decently, and then deciding which machine to cull out..... (The headphones fit my melon well and I appreciate them every time I use 'em.)

It isn't possible for anyone to step up. We are not allowed to compare different brands. It is an administrative decision.
