V3i vs Etrac

I agree Larry.

Don't underestimate the V3i, it is one serious machine.

There is an interesting way to look at it, go to the V3i forum and look at the balance of the posts it seems much more about the machine, settings, ground balance, hardware etc and less posting of finds, look at the E-Trac forum much more about the finds! I am not knocking the Whites machines in any way as I have seen some awesome finds made by them, but the proof is in the postings!

I like both machines...both have their strengths and not so good points. Etrac has been out longer and sold more machines so it would be normal for more etrac finds to take place. Also....you cant swing 2 detectors at once so you have to choose which you think is going to better at what you want to find. I prefer the etrac for all around hunting or when I don't know what kind of ground I will be in(conditions)thus I use it most of the time...therefore I will naturally have more etrac finds. I use the v3i for gold mostly. I have found the 'ground" is the key element in how successful you will be in finding what you want. What will work very well here wont work as well there ....and visa versa.

I just switched to the Etrac from a V3i. I have always been a whites user but I was tired of seeing my friends who use Etracs always kill me on silver finds. The first day out I found 8 silver dimes in a park I worked my whole life. The V3i is a great relic machine. If I were a relic hunter I would probably stick with the V...
