Lowboy: Thanks for the tip on the dirty tone so I will try to listen for these tones.
Rob: To answer your question there is one thing that can help my hearing....and I am going to try to exhaust all of my options before I go down the hearing aid road.
I was pretty foolish when I was in the service so I only have myself to blame. When I went for my last hearing test I just sat in the chair with my thumb hovering over the red button and the hearing specialist came to the door and said, "I have been sending you tones for over two minutes and you haven't moved." Then she told me that I was, for lack of a better term, half deaf...I told her to just tell my wife that because she keeps calling it selective hearing!
I appreciate all of the help with the VDI tones. I set everything at 120, shut off the modulation, and kicked the RD back up to 90. I will be able to test everything on Saturday so I will try to post with the results. Again thanks so much for the help Rob!
Larry: Hey, great question and I know it had to be asked. I have the target volume set to 58 and have boosted the QZ-99 headphones up as far as I can tolerate so surface targets don't destroy whatever hearing I do have left!
Kyledfx: I have had my eye on the Black Widow headphones but have not heard a lot of feedback on how well they work. I might just go the Gray Ghost road with either the Deep Woods as you have suggested or the Ultimate Gray Ghost headphones. Thanks for the advice.
