V3i Pinpointing audio Issue Thanks White's!

This is Not a Defect on your V3i
Please note the issue can be duplicated as follows:
1-Pinpoint target with toggle pulled in
2- While on target release toggle and pull again and hold while still on target
3-Move off of target and come back on and target is gone!

This is detuning the target

Jimmy always says pull loop off of target BEFORE you pull to pinpoint trigger to avoid this
and if you do this you will not detune your target

(Also repeating this process in the Air is a way to shrink the audio target diameter
also known as ratchet pinpointing)

I just bet that's what Drew was doing wrong(sarcasm.) He has lots of hours behind previous detectors. Point made. The V3i discussion boards have been riddled with this issue, and I've grown a little to accept my V3i being "stupid over a target in AM" because of the contestments from the V3 crowd that it is just fine. I still feel that the thing is not right at all, and nothing can be said that will eliminate the idea that the V3i is a trouble machine until the V3i can be MADE to recover and retrieve a signal in AM after it finds it in Disc. martin

Yep...... He has lots of hours behind his "previous" detector. Do you know what that means Martin?

His previous detector was a not a Whites v3i.

You yourself should know that some people have a difficult time with new equipment....:nopity: Martin just sell your machine to someone that understands what the limits of modern science are, you have given a heck of a try it is just not for you. Some people never learn how to drive, so dont hold it against yourself.

I guess some people cannot fathom how the technology works and what a miracle machine the v3i is. If a person has a problem with the Whites v3i than by all means see your dealer so that he can teach you how to use it. If anyone seriously wants to discuss this in detail pm me.

If I felt that way about the detector I would have sold it a long time ago. Since you feel it is a trouble machine why do you still have yours? It just seems like it would be stupid to do so. Get a machine you like and let it go. The 5900 might be a good choice. This is not sarcasm just my HO. Leave those of us who like the V3i to help each other learn and find all we can.

I have a low tolerance for people who don't add anything positive to the learning process. Some people think we should answer all their questions while they do nothing to help.

You said, nothing can be said that will eliminate the idea that the V3i is a trouble machine until the V3i can be MADE to recover and retrieve a signal in AM after it finds it in Disc. martin It does recover targets and retrieve a signal in AM. It does it for me every day.

Oh and by the way do you know who Jimmy is? He has a great detecting reputation.

Keep working at it Druid.

If a machine which has the job of simply injecting a magnetic image into the ground can NOT follow up after a Disc detection saying, "Look here"...then there is something seriously wrong. Even the most basic machines won't ever fail AM in PP mode after indicating that there is a target in discrimination mode. Are we to believe that all of the previous machines which successfully pinpointed were unique? martin

I have to add,,,,,,,,,,,,,Jimmy, so what? So there's a guy with a successful past here. The White's board has several like that. So what is so spectacular here! ml

 I hope the post above about sums it up for anyone that has any questions. Martin says it has a problem and no one else matters.:drinking: 10,000 plus users and going strong.
