V3i first 2 days of finds

Back in to detecting again used to aus an xterra70 but upgraded to a V3i recently , must say am quite impressed . Yes a fair amount of learning but very happy with the finds so far. Looked and read about many detectors and nearly bought a 3030 minelab but the ability to possible find small gold in trash areas swayed me in favor of the V3i . Hopefully will get the chance to try a couple of trashy old gold sites next week . Till then i will happily hunt some more old house sites and a couple more parks.

As you see you can do well with the V3i right from the start.:spin:

Yes it has been a good choice Only negative i have with machine is IDs are not that stable and i would love them to lock on more solidly. Anyone have any tips that may help with this.

What coil and program are you using? In areas of multiple targets it takes some practice to find that sweet spot to pinpoint or get the repeat signal requiring digging.

I really did not expect after having my detector that I would learn anything after the first couple of months, I figured there was nothing to it. Now after over 3 years I find that I am still learning my detector and how to squeak out signals.

Howdy trtkjd1--

That's a good haul there! With more experience with your detector, the good finds will increase. If you have any questions, most answers can be found in "Rob's Links" at the top of this forum. If not there just ask - there are some very knowledgeable detectorists that visit this forum. Best of luck and...
