V3i 10" DD Coil problem

Is it safe to say that the problem with whites v3i had with the 10inch stock coil solved now.It scares me to spend that much on it just to happen to send it in.Thanks

There can always be a coil problem. The D2 has no more problems now than any other of the Whites coils. Both my D2 coils are over two years old. They are guaranteed so what is the risk. If you are hunting for the deeper older coins it is the best choice. Unless your ground is mild the D2 is the way to go. JMHO

All very true. I have the 10 DD as well as the 6X10 DD. Both very good coils. I think that there has been a shift away from concentrics here lately, but if you have low mineralization and little trash the concentrics do a very good job.The 950 is my coil of choice of choice if possible because the machine settles down a whole lot and the info I get is more precise and consistent. I use the DD's when I have to, but never want to. Every coil has it's place where it excels beyond others you just need to buy them all. Never a problem with the 10DD. JMOI.

Thanks for the info I will go for the 10inch.I really appreciate everyone that helps out the beginner,I'm sure if this forum didn't exist alot of people would just give up and miss out on all the fun. Thanks

I agree we all are learning and remember... we were all beginners once too. Welcome aboard!

My detector seems to perform better overall with the 10"DD

May just be my imagination, 12" is good but heavy for my bad shoulder, 950 has worked well in the past for me but I seem to find more tarkets relic hunting with the DD and I think it is because of ground coverage at depth?

I find myself using it 90% of the time in this one site I am doing well in that has been hammered over the years.

I think I have gotten bullets 1-2" deeper with the 950 but seem to get more numbers with the 10" DD

Enjoy

Jerry

I love my 10"DD coil and use it most of the time. I have a 6x12 eclipse and 950 also... and they have their place too but you can't beat the target separation the DD give you.
