v3/v3i

Just heard on the grapevine from my detecting mate whites are to bring out a set software programs just for uk / europe use,in the next few months anyone know anything about it.

NO I haven't. I remember when the Vision was almost ready to be released a certain dealer leaked the info. Then the problems began. I wish people who are supposed to be trusted with inside information really could be trusted. This is just my 2 cents and I know nothing.

Being a trustworthy person, I would not tell if I did know. Did you hear that Carl?

Doesnt seem logical, what can be so different with UK that it needs a special software.

And if so people would want that in US too.

I wish for a software update myself but the only thing i want more adjustments on is tones. I would like to have the option to chose several types of VCO in disc channel.

And i really hope whites work on updates all the time as this detector opens up that possibility to everyones advantage. Both Whites and customers.

What do you mean by several types of VCO? (Voltage Controlled Oscillators) Do you mean tones or sets of tones?

As it is now you can address whatever tone you like to each and every ID nr. But the tonetype itself stays a beep.

I want to be able to address the tones with VCO, lets say from just barely to highly with 4 different levels.

Break off the edges of the beep if you understand me. Maybe VCO is the wrong term here as there allready is both modulation and VCO in pinpoint for signal strength.

I think I understand, altering the ramp up to the beep and then the ramp down after the beep? Some manufactures call it a long or short tone, another, a standard tone or belltone?

One thing is for sure... no belltone... I hate them..

But you still understand i think. A smoother start and end to the tone, Less beep like, more food for the ears and brain in the target tone.

Easier to hear a blend of two close targets too

To get more beep information, you will have to turn the tone ID off, but still a long way off from what you would like to have.

I know. I work mostly in mixed mode, that way I can break off the tone to my likings better.

Seems you know what im after now, i bet many would agree. A suggestion for next upgrade...

Using Tone ID in combination with a slow Recovery Delay (90 to 110) you will get this effect. You must have each VDI assigned with it's own tone and incremented by one. The Default Coin or Coin and Jewelry is set this way. This is actually how I pick out good deep targets. Rusty nail tips which can present themselves as a good target at times will sound different. Typically the high tone will be cut off sharp on a nail tip. The tone will roll smoothly on a uniform target such as a coin or ring. the ramp up and decay of the tone can tell you a lot. This requires a steady and slow swing. The slow Recovery Delay will still work well in heavy iron using Correlate modes. The V3/V3i really shines in this situation, as it will prioritize it's response based on the dominance of the targets. This usually gives the coin the advantage without having to rely on separation of targets. It's why we find so many targets together in the same hole. I hunt old parks and this is very common. Most detectors will mask in this situation. On a side note I have found many more deep coin spills as well. Even multiple good targets can appear as trash, as it will confuse the filters of a lot of detectors.

Does this explain why there are so many V3's for sale lately?
I'm thinking something new is coming soon to a whites dealer real soon... Could that explain the sudden sales of used V3's?

We long for aspects of analog.............still! (Only aspects though!)

Thanks.

I think I have been there a few times but have to try again using your formula. I have my recovery at 80 nearly all the time.

I mostly work a relic type program with mixed mode for fields, havent been that much in parks yet with the V3.

I really like the All Metal channel on this detector btw...best i have tried and with all the adjustments it can be perfect for any of my AM needs.

Thats to funny CYBER, lol, i knew the v3 was made with alien tecnology. That explains everything.

Sudden sales of used V3's ??? I checked four classifieds, I saw Jason had One. That's all UNO. I guess there will always be unfounded rumors. Maybe I should sell mine before the market gets flooded. :stars:I hope we can blame it on Cabin Fever.

I will buy yours if you buy mine. Wait... That doesn't seem right. Full color display, advanced digital technology , and no frick'in calculator! uhh? where is my pencil and paper? :surrender:
