LEARN THE MACHINE FIRST

Granted I'm new to my machine too, but looking back at my first "3 weeks" with my XLT years ago, I was only scratching the surface of what it could do. I can honestly say that at that time I would have ventured to say I knew the machine "pretty well" in that time frame.....looking back, I wasn't even close! Listen to Crock....learn the machine and look at outings as learning experiences.....treasure outings will soon follow!

Let me get a better understanding of your situation Hammie. You have owned the most advanced metal detector made for............ THREE WEEKS......... and you are about ready to sell it because you think you might be missing some targets.

You don't say how long you have been detecting, but those of us who have 30 years, or more, of experience, miss a lot of treasure every time we go hunting and that is with detectors we know well.

Realistically, owning a V3 is only a start in finding "treasure", maybe 1%. Knowing how to use the V3 might account for another 29% and experience and luck makes up most of the other 70%. Give yourself plenty of time in learning how to use the V3, up to a year or more for many of us just to get a good understanding of it. Some are quick learners and some never learn, but most of us are in the middle there somewhere.

I'm sure someday, someone will come up with a killer EU program, but I would think the Hi-Pro factory would find most of what you are looking for in the Netherlands and if not, open up the discrimination pattern some more to allow for more iron targets. Adjusting the gain, sensitivity and recovery delay for your ground should cover most of your problems and practice, practice and learn should make the biggest impact in learning the V. Good luck Hammie.

heey i just aquired one too, maybe we can learn from eachother and hunt together sometime.

i live in Amsterdam.

kind regards,
