V 3 and Program modes

Still reading the manual..can I say for sure from what I've read..in the common mode I can use some of the C&J mode settings reconfigure to my liking and use that new program? Or in the common mode use various expert mode settings and reconfigure them to see how they would respond? Jamie

If I understand your questions...........you can make changes to just about anything in any program and the program will keep those changes even after the V is turned off and back on again. In the common program you can make global changes that affect all programs the same so not everything is changeable as in the individual programs. Like if you want all programs to have the same color scheme or audio level and the like.

>>expert mode settings <<

WHAT???

Don't you think it best to learn the NEW machine FIRST???

Yes crock of coins, I agree, but I was checking the mixed mode orp, and basicall in my coin mode I can't give different audio tones to metals...so I thought mirror the coin mode in the mixed mode then you can change VDI tones etc. Yes still learning the machine, and reading reading reading. Thank you Jamie

It does have a LOT of thing you can change ;-) I bet you will find things that will make you happy.

Good Luck

If you find a program that you like, you can make changes to it. In Coin and Jewelry, you can change the tones for different targets. The default is that tone ID is off. So, to set tone ID on, you can either zoom the audio settings live control or go to the audio menu in the expert menu. Under search audio, select the tone ID checkbox. Then you will have a different tone for each VDI in increasing order (standard tones). You can also adjust the tones for the targets you want. If you select custom tones, you can do this. So say you want to set VDIs -78 to -43 to tone 100 (just an example), go into the custom tones, select VDI -78 and set its tone to 100. Press enter and the up arrow key (or it might be the down arrow - I forget - I'm going off memory) until you get to VDI -43. You should have 100 in all the VDIs between -78 to -43. You can do this in any program.

You can make your custom tones common but at this point, you are probably better off just fiddling with the various programs. The tones have not been excluded from the programs, so even if you change them in common, if you are running a different program, that program's settings will override the common settings. There is a way to make programs use settings in the common program, but you have to exclude them from the program you are working with.
