Mr. Dual Field, Diablo and this Old Hunter managed to pull the rabbit outa the hat this AM!!
The Eastern weather of the past 48 hours or so have covered most of my hunting grounds with up to several feet of sand.
When I checked the water this AM at about 7 oclock it was smooth without a wave in sight and no wind to stir things up.
I called my hunting Buddy Frank and we agreed to meet where I found the last gold ring and by the time he arrived I had hunted an hour and had two junk targets from the deep sand!!
The ground swells were threatening to toss me on the beach and I appologized to Frank for getting him down here on a wild goose chase.
I know he doesn't like these conditions and I don't either.
He checked out a near-by beach to see if he might find more sheltered waters and donning wadders headed in that direction.
I kept hunting as best I could with conditions as they were, hoping to find a "thin sand" area where I might get lucky.
Frank returned and told me he was heading to a freshwater lake where he was sure the waves were not this bad!!
I finally did find a small area where the sand wasn't so bad and dug two more pieces of junk including a lead wadcutter .38 Caliber bullet.

Not long after that a little over two hours into dodging swells and struggling to stay on my feet, I recovered this tiny 9K (My 1st 9K ever!) ring inscribed 1917!! (The markings are European .375)
5 targets recovered including one gold ring was enough to send me packing.
