:usaflag:Road construction piles..

:usaflag:Got permission to go over this very large lot which has many, many piles of construction debris that was removed from the main drag in my town about five years back. There is all sorts of iron and asphalt chunks mixed in and it is'nt very easy to navigate through the 6 foot high piles. Don't know if I will find anything, but I have a hunch that I will. Has anyone else in here ever tried to detect this sort of thing. Common sense would say that there HAS to be coins here. Hope to have some pic's of any finds soon.

Good luck looks like it could be good.
Hope there's not to much re bare in it.

Good Hunting Mcdave! Gotta string up my Les Paul then Im out to hunt an old house place. Be careful on those piles bud.

Yeah I had a pile awhile back I wanted to hunt where they built a new school. The pile was about 30 feet high and covered about five acres but was all fenced in.

I've heard of some good finds in piles of dirt from construction jobs. When they replace the bridge by my house all I could find was large pieces of steel rebar and angle iron. Like Mel Fisher used to say: "Today's the Day". You might find one ancient coin or valuable collectors item and you might not. But, you never know until you swing and dig. Good luck with your project.
