:usaflag: Dual Field Finds A Real Antique!! :detecting:

Many Thanks Friends for your wonderful replies!!

My jeweler friend assures me that the ring's stone is aquamarine and the setting is Circa 1920s or '30s!

Still an antique in anyone's book!

Ah well, maybe next time!

GL&HH Fellow Hunters,

CJ

It appears the Dual Field is really kicking it for you! I have an Excal II that I love so much but I also want a back up detector in case my Excal goes down. Are you diggin tons of trash with the dual field? Also, does it really go that deep. You sure are gettin some deep and pretty targets for those types of rings.

I dig my share of junk metal, but I have hunted mostly with PI machines since 1982 and it's all I know!

Tiny bits of wire, BBs and small screw heads can be a real challenge, but using a plastic sifter with a pin pointer enables me to recover most of those targets.

The Dual Field is a favorite of mine and some of my deepest recoveries were located with it.:)

I have no way to prove depth and don't really care.

When I can take home coins and rings from a hundred or so years ago that's deep enough for me!!

CJ

yes don't need to get any deeper than that :clapping:

already busted one scoop "they" said the design has as been thoroughly tested, i said with what a VLF  really the DF is deeper than any detector made for water i was rather upset when i was accused of miss-use i said i work hard with a pulse machine, and can only put as much sand in as it will hold so best to fix your design, they wouldn't hear it, so will not be recommending their scoops :ausflag: pulse people need power scoops

so i am left to mod the scoop for pulse power and digging deep, and the other fellas can carry on VLFing :clapping:

well its all learning and making equipment to suit my needs, when i am at the beach at 3am i am not out for a stroll i am there to hunt and need equipment to suit :clapping:

my whinge for the day :argue:

sorry CJ for hijacking your thread it just come out...........

That's alright AJ!!

Tell it like it is Son!!

A Real Hunter can't be wasting time on inferior equipment!!

GL&HH Friend,

CJ

AJ...

The DF gives us the best chance of finding the oldest stuff... but its the hunter that makes the detector successful...

Great job on the oldie CJ... you and I are going to have to hook up again... PI JOE and myself want to help you recover some of your old gold

Sounds like something I would enjoy Craig!!

Let me know how deep the water may be so I can bring the right wading gear!!

Stay in touch Friend,

CJ

No CJ... PI JOE and myself want to help free up some of your gold not ours lol...

So what are you suggesting Craig????????

You can call me with a tentative plan any time!

I would be delighted to guide you Fellow Hunters into my small local hunting grounds,

CJ

getting the hang of the PI Craig and wouldn't swap it for anything else hear those faint ones, gold is not abundant in my area but still i am picking some up last wet one was 14K which is good for around here one of the diamonds had broke off its setting DOH, but it proved to me i must be doing something right as it wasn't lost yesterday :) its fun anyway just love it.............

Thats cool... I don't hunt much during the warmer months... I prefer to hunt in the winter when most others are sitting in front of their woodburning stoves...

Craig freezing here winter big seas and timing seem to be the way to go, 3am madness at the beach to get the tides but i love it anyway have to be an addict to even go out the door :lmfao: it sure is fun when the gold pops out worth all the hard work :wiggle:
