:usaflag:I got permission to hunt the Willow Valley Hall, which has been used for about 100 years for Co-op food clubs and township dances, local voting station etc..The guy I had to talk to said that it had been picked clean..but I was welcome to try anyways. Well...he was right..picked up a lot of junk. But I also found an old drill bit and file. Some kind of jewelry with 9 set stones..I'm assuming that its glass or zirconia...no way in hell I found diamonds..I'm not that lucky. An old style locking mechanism for a door (I think)...can't see it very well in the picture. A live .22 rimfire round..a couple of (kind of) old bottles....and..just as I was about to pull the pin...I found this '28 SLQ in great shape...that absolutely made my day.:detecting:

Hey the quarter made it all worth while. Proof that no place is ever hunted out and there could be more there. Very nice find.

Great quarter! Lucky you. Where was it that it was missed by so many hunters? Good day for sure.

:usaflag:The Hall has a backdoor which leads to the basement. There is a single-step concrete pad buried under 5 inches of dirt and pine needles at the base of the door...apparently they quit sweeeping it off years ago and it just started piling up. The only reason I knew the pad was there was because I was getting signals from the rebar or whatever they used to strengthen it. I happened to sweep over a spot that had a slightly louder signal that the rest of it..and the quarter was sitting right on the edge of the pad itself....in my case..what I call dumb luck.
