:usaflag: A Few Days Ago I Hunted The Salt Water :detecting:-----------

Hi scrooge,

My time is too valuable to spend using a machine that is less than perfect for my hunting situation and style!

That being said, I am using the DF now to determine if it is better suited for me and how and where I hunt.

When I have enough hours in using the DF I will post my views on the machine and the results.

The main difference I can comment on at this moment is that I am doing a lot more digging!

I can't say that this digging is because the machine detects deeper, but that I can't ignore iron as when using the Infinium.

GL&HH Friend,

CJ

I hope the DF gives you many as many successful years of service as my old Whites Pi gave me. I am selling my Infinium and was either going back to the Whites DF or possibly the Tesoro Sand Shark..I am having trouble locating many users of the Sand Shark to get a feel for the machine. How is pin pointing with the DF compared to the Infinium? Any pros or cons in your opinion of the DF. Thanks Scrooge

good work on both finding and returning the rings-God bless ya for it-am sure the owners were not only surprised but also elated to see ya standing at door with their ring

In researching past posts for another post I noticed I hadn't replied to Scrooge's question!

Pin pointing with any large coil is rarely easy, but I have learned to manage somehow to retrieve most, but not all of my targets!! (I do lose one every so often!!)

Sorry for he long delay in answering your question Friend!!!

Hey I'm an Old Hunter!! Whatdo Ya want from me!!??

Way to go Joe!

It's a great feeling when you return something like that to most folks; something special! I've been trying for two years to return a 1980 class ring. Seven grads have the initials engraved inside the ring. I contacted 4 of them and after they said, "How'd you get my email address?" they all said it was theirs. Trouble is, they didn't lose it where I found it!
Haven't been able to find the other 3. Even went to the school to try to find them; the secretary said leave it with us and we'll get it to the right person. I said No thanks. That's like kissing your sister! You know what I mean? The only reason I'm returning it is to get the good vibes from the person when I hand it over.

Anyways, do what you feel. I'm curious what a 2008 grad will say. It may be, "Whatever!". Keep us posted.

Congratulations on finding and returning. I have done that a few times when I could and the joy of giving the ring back and the friendships made far exceeds the monetary value of the rings.

Way to go!

Great job on your finds and your efforts. I'm not even going to get into the right or wrong, good feelings, etc. I've returned 14 rings. I've recieved exactly 4 thank you notes. It is fun to hunt down the person who lost their ring because it's kind of like completing a difficult puzzle. I've often had people ask me if I return rings to the rightful owner. Make no mistake, as soon as it goes from my scoop to my pocket, I am the rightful owner. It's up to me and only me if I decide to sell for bullion or spend my time searching for someone who seldom gives a damn. Just my two cents.

My most recent ring return was found in a yard last fall where it was lost by a father playing with his youngsters. His father in law stopped by my house and drove me the 13 miles or so to the site and perhaps five minutes into the hunt, using my wife's reliable little Garretts Ace 250, I found number 49 and handed it to the gent who brung me!!

Ah, if only they all were so easy!!!!!!!!!!!

I spent several hours searching for a couple over the years on dry land without finding the target!!

GL&HH Friends,

CJ
