I decided since it was a bit rainy I would hit the local swimming hole. Got out an old pair of sneakers, made a sand scoop out of a small coffee can and headed out. The beach is part of a DNR maintained campground, so I went up to the summer caretaker's shack and made sure it was ok. Nice old guy...he just said to make sure I did'nt leave any "ankle-breakers" (holes). I only wandered out to about over my knees in water.. '37 buffalo nickel was 1st find of the day....'41 wheatie...I just about dropped a turd when I saw that gold sac' turn over in the sand. Not the gold I was hoping for but, hey..a dollar is a dollar no matter how it's served. And the buffalo nickel is worth a buck anyways..good times. And actually it was more like two hours at the beach, not a whole day.
