US Gold Buyers friggin nightmare.......

I sent my 10K lode into them, to see how the transaction went, before pulling the trigger on the 14K lode. Now granted, it's not a huge lode, but it ain't too trashy either. Huntress had 2 dwts of 10K and 6.5 dwts of 14K. I had a bridge, which I suspected could be palladium and they said it was not. I had 10 dwts of unmarked gold and 30.9 dwts of 10K. The shipping process was great, using their Fed-X account # and they pay the freight and insurance both ways, supposedly. When they called with my settlement amount today, I inquired, at what percentage am I getting paid? I was told 86%, since my lode was under 5 ozs. When I called the other day to verify, I was told a much higher #, I think they said 96%. The supervisor said my order was less than 5ozs, so I get 86%. They were extremely rude, brash and did not give a crap that I was unhappy and completely unwilling to compromise in any way. Then, I said to just send my gold back and they said I would have to pay $39.75, to ship it back Fed-X, as that is how I had it sent to them. They refused to return the shipment ground, as if to punish me, for not accepting their lousy offer. I'd like to put a Texas boot right up their yank posteriors! Forgive the graphic nature of my displeasure, however I need to vent right now, my hands are shaking, LOL! If I had sent 5ozs., then perhaps things would have been different, fact is, I'm not penalized by Midwest, if I send in a lode like that. I wouldn't send them a thing, if I were ya'll, consider yerself warned mates. I sincerely question any promises from them about being top gun on payout, don't go there.

Wow, that sucks!!!!

That's a major pain ! But i since they pay for shipping back and forth, you probably save some money... That will help boost your percentage. Unless the other companies also pay for shipping ?

Anyhow, i'm gratefull i found a honest coin dealer willing to pay me kitco's minus 5%... and that is cash, no extra fees. And the best part is that the guy's business is close by, so i just stop by to leave the stuff and come back to pick up my money a few days later. Beats the heack out of worrying about lost shipping or unsatisfyed custommers on ebay. My Buddy Luke had some bad experience with that recently. Of course, to make his trip to Kitco's worth it, i need to bring enauph gold to interrest him.

Now that all my gold is sold, even the ones i found during winter's vacations, i dont mind too mutch seeing the price of gold getting down a little... that means it will be more affordable for the next depositors :)

Martin, you need to re-read his post. They want him to pay right at $40 to ship it back. That's nothing but a a sorry way to try and force him to go ahead and sell it to them imo.

Hey GH,

I've heard some pretty bad "Horror" stories about US Gold....If I'm correct I believe there were many many Consumer Complaints about them..

Along with being rated the Worst to send gold into and to buy from..

Sorry to hear you went through all that C$ap....

Maybe you ought to have them send that Quote to you in writing with a breakdown and also a description of their shipping policy (plus an explaination of these new charges). Their manager just might be skimming...or just a douche. Either way, asking for it in writing puts the ball in their court as far as legal responsibility, and just might make them do the right thing. Good Luck!

Dig, I have read everything on their website and I felt like I had a pretty clear understanding about what to expect,l even though payouts for less than 5 ozs are not addressed. They are a bunch of crooks, thats for sure. Thank goodness, I may only lose the $39.75, if I get back all my lode. They were a bunch of rude yank jerks! I wouldn't even give them the opportunity of an explanation, unless I coulda got my hands around that supervisors neck. Fact is, many times a supervisor can make you feel good, even though they may be screwing your brains out. Not this guy, I felt like ground meat after I got off the phone with him. There was simply NO TALKING to him whatsoever!

LOL! Hey Jerry, I just remembered one of the last things I said to the supervisor, as our heated conversation was coming to a close. I said, "this was not going to look good on a resume" and he laughed and mocked me,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,HHHHHMMMMMMMMMMMM! This post has been viewed 235 times on this board and at least 436 times on the other board, CHA-CHING! WHO LOST ON THIS DEAL? They should have just done me right, huh? Hey, it was worth the $39.75 for my mates to have their booty taken out of harms way, ya'll are welcome!

GH, they will lose business over this for sure. Nobody likes to see people treated unfairly. I'm sure the word on this is spreading quickly on the forums so I hope they start scratching their heads soon trying to figure out why none of us are sending anything to them.
Jerry

yea, a real ripple affect!!!! I hope he has up-dated his resume!!!
Its funny how companies now-a-days still treat potential customers so poorly, especially in the age of digital delivery with email, and forums. In 2 days people all around the world have been warned about their shoddy service, now thats just funny!!!

Jerry, there are enough ignorant people out there that would jump at the chance to get 86% on their gold, since the pawn shops probably only give 50%. They will probably not even miss our business, as they are so swamped right now. Pirates are a more educated bunch though and work hard for every precious piece. We deserve to get top payout, we earned it.

Hey Stacy, glad you mentioned "after I get it back", LOL! I felt so helpless, as they REALLY had me over a barrel being in possession of the booty, savvy? It was an aweful experience, that I would not wish upon any of my mates!

You're right, GH. And I guess that's why the jerk felt like he could treat you the way he did. But sooner or later he's going to regret it. You know the old saying about being careful how you treat people on your way up. You'll see them again on your way down. I've got a little gold that I was going to send to Midwest, not much, but my wife is having a new ring designed by a local jeweler so I though I would let her use it for the ring as long as they give her a fair allowance for it. If not I'll send it off and give her the money from Midwest. You're also right about how hard we work for what we get. We deserve all we can get for what we recover.
