Sigh...can't please everyone. If you read correctly, the groundskeeper did not mind the small shovel. I care very much about perception, so I make my holes as invisible as possible. Why are you attacking me and Detecting History?
Sorry to hear about your coil DH. I don't think mine is bad, I just think the settings or ferrous coin or whatever that is affecting the shallow signals. I still find all the targets, just not as deep as I am expecting.
I just saw that Larry also sees inconsistency with the depth meter under 3 inches. Thats really all the info I was seeking, if others see what I see.
