Navy folks and their big boats. I assume that you do realize that there would be no Navy if it had not been for the Marines saving your hide many years ago, right? John Paul Jones was being whipped pretty bad by the British and was on the verge of being defeated, and his boat sunk. Some Marines on shore saw what was happening and caught a ferry out to his ship, climbed up into the riggings, and started shooting the British sailors. Within thirty minutes the battle was over, and John Paul Jones was declared the winner. The next day when John Paul Jones was being interviewed by a reporter from the New York Times, he verified that the Marines had indeed saved his hide and that the Navy would forever be indebted to the Marines. Please have a great day! Kelley (Texas)
