And thanks to Barryny on the tips for credit card returns of a metal detector.

Now that's great customer service. Over the years I have owned several explorers and etracs and have never had a problem with any of them but it is good to know customer service is there if needed.

Great to hear that Minelab acted so proactively Mark, that is awesome support. I was out with my Brother Saturday and Sunday and I have a few freezes/shutdowns with my machine. I'll be interested to see if your new machine is more stable.

I did not think Minelab would give you any problems great service  Jim

I seem to have gotten a new error. While connected to the computer while I was running Xchange2 the detector screen suddenly said "low battery". I only had about an hour on a full battery charge so I was sure the battery wasn't low. The detector wouldn't power off or let me change any screens. I had to pull the battery then re-seat it. No problem since doing that.

On another note, I've discovered that I should NOT turn the detector off after uploading or updating a mode. It is only after you disconnect from the computer that the detector updates what ever changes that were made. You will see a little message on the detector screen saying it is updating. If you power it off before this message is displayed on the detector, the updates are lost.

Thanks for that last little tidbit of info. I had posted a question on why my new mode wouldn't show up in the CTX. So after reading your info, I unplugged the USB cable before shutting off the detector. Problem solved.....

Great! Glad I posted so someone could be helped. It was just by chance that I figured that out as I was having the problem, too.
