unestable detector

I have a question, someone knows because when I raise the floor plate, or leave the detector on the ground, the detector begins to chatter? the VDI numbers go up and down and the noise too.
the Rx gain is 10, mineralized site, lowering it to 3 or 4 detector was quiet and stable VDI.
He wore locktrack.puede be putting it in AutoTrack is stable.

also had high pass filter 10.

ideas that can be?

THANKS

When I set my detector down I push the tab/menu key to stop it from "running" and to be quiet. If the ground mineralization is high, then from everything I have read you are doing the right thing in lowering the Rx, but try to keep the Disc up (I believe).

Regarding your filters, you have to bury a coin at that site and see what filter and recovery works best.

How will I know which filter and recovery work best?

Have you used your frequency offset to find the quietest channel?

Well first, yeah, the 10Hz filters are more suited to higher mineralization or higher swing speeds. But not paying so much attention to the rules, burying a coin and just listen to what settings create the best sounding target for YOUR swing speed. (I think it's easier to adjust settings for your swing speed than the other way around). If the mineralization is high, I imagine you in the right area with filters.

Another thing, so that the detector is unstable, as I explained above, it is better (or I do) change the frequency to another channel offset (+ or -?) Or download the rx gain.

thanks

Is this in the middle of town? Does it do this in the country side? You could be having electro magnetic interference or something else. More details needed.

HUNTING SETUP
You want to transmit the highest signal possible while incurring as little noise as possible (highest Signal to Noise ratio) for maximum performance.
Running Threshold
It takes a stronger target signal to "turn the audio on when running no threshold then it does to increase it a bit by having the threshold audio on. So - run your threshold just above the threshold of sound, and you'll get better depth then if you run w/o a threshold.
I check the EMI environment to see how much noise I will have to deal with. I hold the detector waist high, pull the trigger to activate Pinpoint mode, and turn in a circle. If I get a "motor boating sound", I know I have EMI interference. I then adjust the frequency offset to compensate for the EMI. I go through the offsets and look for the least pinpoint noise. If this doesn
