i find myself needing to buy a underwater detector,i will be useing it in fresh water only about 30feet down ,i know nothing about underwater detectors,i own a minelab ex2 can you tell me a good detector to buy? thanks

For better sensitivity to small gold there seems to be a consensus as follows:
Tesoro;
Stingray I or II
TigerShark
DetectorPro;
Headhunter Diver(you are too deep for the Wader)
Fisher;
1280
For freshwater I use a Fisher CZ-20 for reasons I won't go into unless you are even considering one. It is not as sensitive to small gold, as say a Tesoro, by a long shot.
PI(Pulse Induction) I have no experience with them, and have steered clear because of the lack of an effective Disc. There is a new Eric Foster machine being tested with some level of Disc, but be prepared to drop a couple of "K" on it.

I heard good things about the Tesoro Tigershark for freshwater hunting and I've used the Fisher 1280-X in freshwater with good results. Both are fairly low priced machines if purchased used.

I think headhunter diver,,,simple to use,good sensitivity to small objects,cs

Check out the <span style="background-color:#ffff00;">Tesoro Tiger Shark </span>!!!

Head hunter diver matey....arrrggg...she be a jewel her self for many reasons...check her out...

zi have been detec/diveing for 20+ yrs.what could you be doing at 30 ft, dwn and are you certified to dive,most everything you want to find is under 15 ft..after 15ft. it starts to get dangerous so be careful,as for a detector it depends what type of enviroment you are going to be hunting in,Minelab for ocean and or trashy areas and a tesoro for fresh water,any more info you need I'll be happy to talk to you good luck HH Scott Ferg.
