HI All, I have a question for Garretts users, Has anyone ever used a GARRETT ULTRA INVESTIGATOR G-500? This detector is like brand new, i got it in a trade and was told that it made a Grate relic detector. On the ID face it has 22----- 38-----45----cal, lead--copper---iron--- brass. ON THE FAR RIGHT IT SAIDS |||||||penny||||||||quarter|||||||||silver|||||dollar. Has anyone seen this detector before? I can,t find anything about it, but looks nice. I think i will try to take it out this week end and see what it will do. If you have any info on this please help, Thanks Dean

It's a tactical ground search detector.

Here's a link to more info:

HTH!

I'ts an older model, the same as a GTA 500 ultra. The detector you have has a different faceplate on it. The electronics are exactly the same. I used the GTA 500 ultra for many years, and found thousands of coins with mine. Here is a field test on the coin unit without the ammunition icons.....

It's one of Garrett's law enforcement detectors for locating evidence at the scene of a crime. It's basically a hobby detector converted to law enforcement use. You can probably find it on Garrett's web site under their law enforcement or security division.
