Type of shovel for relic hunting.

I started out using an Army shovel. A real US folding Army shovel is almost indestructible. For deep targets, a "drain spade" works good, and is effective for all depths. Most hardware stores have these and they and they are not expensive.

That one looks like it would be decent enough. I have had excellent service with Radius brand of shovels. They have a wide selection including one labeled for metal detecting. I have it, their Root Slayer(large & small) & 2 types of their hand trowels. They are a little less expensive than that $65 one.

We've broken 3 army shovels. My brother still uses one, taped up. I've been using the Lesche Piranha for the last 5 years. Still holding up.

I’ve had really good luck with the short handle root slayer. The weight is good and the radius of the upper handle is comfortable.

I use a predator tool I think mine is called little eagle. I have had it for years. I won it here on findmall in a forum contest years ago.
