Two stinkin barbers, 2 spoons, one token with a five on it and 1 silver Washington

At least you still found some nice silver, and you weren't skunked!:)

Barbers seem hard to come by in my area and I live in SC, one of the oldest states in the US. It is just in this area back in the day people were poor. Since it is SC, the really old stuff does come by either way. I would have been happy with those Barbers in those seven hours although in seven hours I would have expected more finds than that. To put a number rating on that type of hunt ranging from 1-10, I would say it was something like a 7 in my book. Nice finds.

I would have to agree with Angelicstorm on this one. I would be jazzed to hit silver anytime. A good find is a good find. Anyway... Thanks for sharing your stinking finds with us.

its about time to quit detecting when your complaining about finding barbers lol

it just doesn't interest me as much as coppers do.its not that I even find a whole lot of barber quarters dimes so on and so forth.its just that I want to find older things. if you're from the Northeast and you primarily detect the same type of the areas I do you would feel the same way.

I gotcha. Once I started catching those 40-50 lb fish, that became my goal. The smaller ones such as in the 5 or 6 lb range hardly meant as much, but they were still in the satisfaction range. I know my nature and yes I would get spoiled too. haha

I pulled out the first barber dime that I ever found. Dad wrote barber time and I wrote the dates(can you tell from the handwriting), thats close to 30 years ago when I first got one.it was at my uncles house which was a one room schoolhouse.I was probably about 9 years old...these days unless it is an exceptional coin or rare date: it just doesn't excite me much anymore.
