Two stinkin barbers, 2 spoons, one token with a five on it and 1 silver Washington

I was out at one of the 1700s farm today. This farm has given up all sorts of great things in the past like a militia belt plate, New Jersey and Connecticut Coppers, a 1700s Irish coin, and a lot more.

Today all it wanted to give up was two barber dimes, a token with a five on it, a 64 Washington quarter, button and some buckle pieces, spoons and a whole lot of trash. after close to 7 hours of detecting my arm is tired from swinging the 17 inch coil.

I hope for older coins next time

and some crap TOO. A little spoiled aren't we Gary ?

ha, I just always say that Todd..

I feel the same way Gary. If I hunt a few hours and don't hit a LC I start checking my coil connections. Dig Colonial or go Home

In all honesty it was a good day....I even got a sunburn on the back of my neck... The one spoon has an initial on it maybe an F which is cool. It is too bad the token only has a 5 on it. I forgot to mention I found 2 wheat cents.. I didn't have time to get the dates on them.

Nice bunch of finds - even though the colonials didn't show up:clapping:

You guys on the East coast are defiantly spoiled. I'd be happy just to find an IH. Nice finds and better luck next time out.

Yeah its a dud..I am crossing it off my list of 18th century farms to detect.

Gary Gary Gary. ... I cried because I only found a Barber until I met a man who only found a Merc... That's me man I was sure I was digging a Seated .... Or at least a Barber but noooo it was a Merc!

I just might have really been a bit upset if I had dig two Mercs!

I was damned happy when I finally found my first Mercury dime! It only took me 9 months!!! 8 months to find my first silver coin, a 1942 GW quarter on very nice condition, I felt like the hobbit! I've found so far after 11 months of hunting a total of 12 silver coins so I have to agree with the man that said East coast hunters are spoiled
;-) I hope I find a barber, I know some have been found out here, my oldest coin is a 1916 merc I found. I'd say very nice finds! I can't wait to get back to Maryland to visit my mother inlaw later this year, Unfortunately all my previous visits were before I started metal detecting. If I get skunked when I get out to the East coast next time I'll probably sell my detector LOL. Nice finds GK, now that you've gotten those pesky barbers out of the way next time you'll be able to find those Spanish regales (sp?).

Oops, duplicate message deleted!

We got it good out here, I know, I know

I was tempted to just rebury them since they really hadn't matured but, I figured since they are so far out in the field I would probably be the only person to ever find them anyhow.. I may reseed some of the parks in the area with them.

I know that joke of mine (about reburying them) is getting old but it always makes me laugh at least...

Bring them to Oregon and rebury them!!!!

As far as having it good out East, sure I like to think that but maybe my silver count will improve with experience! I'm certainly hoping it will! That's at least part of my problem. I'm still pulling nails that read 13:45 until I get the imposters out of the ground, there ought to be a law I tell ya!
