Last night. Out just before dark. Had a bit of a cold but was feeling much better. Figured it might feel good to stretch my legs. I was followed around by three boys of around 11yo. They were trying to be silly obnoxious funny much of the time. One boy was jumping over my coil as I swung it even though I nicely asked him to stop. I told them that if they were trying to annoy me it was working and that they were most welcome to help if they would just be a bit more respectful. One of the boys started to cry. I felt about two feet tall. I told them they were good boys, which they were, and apologized. They apologized too and we became friends. We all took turns digging and swinging and had fun for an hour or so. I even gave them some loot which tells you how bad I felt. Lesson learned.

It was so warm today I had to go out even though I didn't feel so hot. I found an Indian Head cent straight away. It's soaking. It is heavily corroded and will probably never come back. I hit the area hard and found nothing else old but a lot of modern coins. Hit site two for an hour and got a lot more modern coins and a thin silver ring that crumbled into three pieces as I brushed away some dirt. The sun and air had me feeling pretty good and I thought about stopping one more place. I did. Dug one coin and my batteries died. I figured that was my signal to quit.

This ring reminds me of somebody who I know for some reason. This side depicts the night sky. The other side (in pieces) depicts the day sky. It made me think about her for a moment.

Rain for next four days. We need it. Never saw the ground this dry in April. Looks like August out there!
