Tumbler question

New member
Hello! Which kind of tumbler would be the best for a beginner? A coin tumbler? A rock tumbler? or a vibratory one?

I am planning to get one to clean all those coins I expect to find during my metal detecting adventure...

Thank You

I use one of those Chicago Frieght dual barrel tumblers that you can get at Harbor Freight. I was able to get mine on sale for $39.99. I think they usually cost around $45. HH!!

I use the same type as Roscoe, except it is a single tumbler. I got it for $11 off ebay, used. I reckoned there is little point in spending a bunch of money on a new one, just so I can tumble a few handfuls of grubby clad.

What they said. Rotary rock tumbler. When the belt breaks use rubber bands. Use whatever media you like. There are a thousand combinations.

A standard rock tumbler works fine. Harbor Freight has some good ones. If you catch them on sale you can pick one up for about twenty bucks.
