If you live near a large city say NY or Phila you can go to your jewelers row to the wholesale part and tools house.
I'm assuming you are going to use your scale it to weigh gold?
If so you do not need to spend much. Just get a inexpensive digital readout that
read in penny weights and grams as that is how gold is bough and sold below the Troy OZ. A little pocket model is a good choice.
