really doesn't matter what type of machine anyone uses because it all starts (and usually ends) with the audio portion anyways? I'm stictly a coinshooter so the extra info really helps ME allocate my precious time? A jewelry hunter pretty much has to chase any and all signals to be extra succesful...so all the extras may not be as beneficial to the jewelry type hunter??? jmo.....

That is the reason why I would like to get a machine that supplies a little more information. There are times when I simply don't want to dig to China for a can lid. It may well be a silver dollar under my coil but if it is an iffy signal, I may just pass and get home to supper! I think there is a gray area here. I know a guy who uses "all metal" with his MXT, digs everything, and does VERY well. Then there is me, who likes to do recreational detecting, and usually don't care if I find something. I'm just having fun. That's where the Tesoros excel!
I had the White's VX3i. I sold it after going out with my neighbor; with his Compadre. He consistently walked circles around me, finding a lot of stuff. I found nothing. Don't get me wrong. The White's was a very capable machine; I just didn't want to learn it at the time. Now I'm thinking I may want to try again. Unfortunately, my "swing arm" is jacked up so I need lighter coils. The 3X18 is excellent. I made a "swingy thingy" to assist me.
I'd be happy if Tesoro would produce an analog meter machine like the old 70's Coinmaster! Maybe an updated Golden??

Adding a second or third tone helps over a single tone, so when hunting in all metal mode iron will give a low tone. Then if you get sqweek of a middle or high tone amongst the iron, pinpoint and dig it. Then having the low tone adjustable so it can break at nail or wherever you choose, sort of like the Bounty Hunter Tracker IV, you would probably use Disc mode less often.

I have a kick butt older Cutlass II (non Umax) that's really nice, picked up another to modify................so yeah the oldies can be goodies
