Totals for 2006 - :cam:
Is this the whole year of 2006?? or just a few months....
and also......would it be safe to assume that you average 6 hours a day 365 days a year? Are you retired?? I know I'll get flamed for being a skeptic but I just had to ask.....also did I see someone mention that this was your rookie year????
I dunno....you must live in a warm swimmer friendly area with a long swimming season.....inquiring minds want to know...HH.....Brian
OK, Scully I'll have a shot here. Yes this is his whole 2006 loot take. Scully has been known to hunt 4-6 hours, 2-3 times a week. If a pirate puts in the required time, where many affluent swimmers have been, the loot comes. He has his own business, so he goes when he gets a mind to, but is not retired. Yes, this is his rookie water hunting season, as far as I know. Just goes to show you that tenacious perseverence is productive. He lives in California and is a sweet water pirate. I don't know if he has even ever hunted salt water, but I don't believe he has. I have never met the man, but I like to keep tabs on me fellow looters! Hope this was accurate Scully!
Holy Moley, That is one heck of a haul of fantastic finds!!! I am a curious person as alot of the people on this forum know. I drive alot of them crazy asking questions. But when you ask questions you learn and can do better at things. Anyway I have to know what kind of machine you use? Do you scuba dive? Do you live in Florida? Do you sleep:) Are you retired? Are you married? You should submit that to a magazine and show the world. I would be very proud if I found all that in one year. Here's to your next year!
I was using the Explorer 2 with the 14" - 12" - 5" - 4.5" x 7" coils
for the first part of the year.

I also use the Excal..1000 with the Anderson Long shaft - Wide open areas

Excal 800 with the lighting rod - rocky areas

If you haven't gotten a 560 Vibra probe...life saver in the water
Works great in rocky areas where a scoop wont go - fan the bottom and pinpoint..

I never went past chest deep in the water.... most of my finds are waist or less deep....

Married, Live in Alaska:biggrin:

and am a General Contractor - which would put me at the semi retired status - I guess...I averaged about 2 or 3 times a week.

My average hunt usually last 4 6 hours...

Good luck to you in 2007 and I hope I answered all of your questons
If you have any more questions PM me I would be glad to help...

Thanks Skully

You are a true pirate who puts in the time and effort that goes along with digging all the trash you dig up along with all the treasure. My hat is off to you.I have followed your post all year and you have always shown us some of the best treasure hunting on this forum.Hope this year is as good as last year was for you.

Most people are afraid to challenge people's claims on here.....what can I say......guess I just like being a bit of a non-conformist. My post wasn't meant to be mean spirited in any way....just had to voice my doubts I guess.
I see that you are in Alaska too.....Great area to detect in the right lakes and you must have plenty of them there. and probably a minimum of competition (most of the folks are looking for the nugget variety)....Great place to be!! If you had such a great rookie season your sophmore effort should be gangbusters !!!!
HH......Brian
PS. one question though did you say this was one years accumulation or 3-4 months like you said at the end of your post?

You forgot to mention that he digs "Everything"...so if you happen to come across him, make sure you are not in an area he's been through... It won't be hard to tell...there won't be any metal in the ground...TT
